Tiger Brands Home & Personal Care is inviting applications for a Workplace Experience Student opportunity based in Isando.
The successful candidate will gain practical exposure within the Quality Department and support Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Laboratory and Quality Systems activities.

The programme provides structured workplace learning and hands-on exposure to:
Continuous improvement initiatives
Manufacturing quality processes
Quality assurance and quality operations
Successful candidates will support different areas within the Quality Department.
Performing sampling and testing of incoming raw materials against approved specifications and Certificates of Conformance
Supporting testing of bulk batches to verify compliance with product specifications
Conducting online quality control checks during manufacturing processes
Assisting with calibration and verification of laboratory measurement and testing equipment
Maintaining material retention and reference samples
Supporting water sampling, water testing and quality monitoring activities
Compiling Certificates of Analysis and quality documentation
Participating in product trend analysis and quality improvement initiatives
The successful candidate will assist with:
Document control and record management
Non-conformance management processes
Corrective and preventative actions
Internal audits and compliance assessments
Certification compliance requirements
Implementation and monitoring of GMPs, PRPs, hygiene, sanitation and quality standards
Microbiological monitoring and cleaning verification activities
Monitoring plant hygiene and quality service standards
The candidate will also participate in:
Factory walkabouts and quality inspections
Positive release activities for finished products
Investigations relating to product non-conformances and consumer complaints
Analysis of quality and marketplace feedback data
Continuous improvement opportunities
Factory trials and innovation projects
Compiling quality reports, presentations and weekly performance updates
Staff training and quality awareness initiatives
The candidate will gain exposure to packaging quality by assisting with:
Sampling and inspection of incoming packaging materials
Packaging tests, including dimensional checks, colour verification and barcode verification
Investigations into packaging defects and quality issues
Supplier quality management activities
Maintaining accurate quality records and documentation
Packaging-related continuous improvement projects
Applicants must have a National Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in one of the following fields:
Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Applicants should demonstrate the following competencies:
Initiative and learning agility
Successful candidates will gain:
Exposure to Quality Assurance and Quality Operations within a leading FMCG organisation
Hands-on experience in laboratory testing, quality systems and manufacturing quality control
Understanding of GMP, Quality Management Systems, CAPA, auditing and compliance processes
Participation in continuous improvement and innovation projects
Professional mentorship and practical workplace experience
Certified copy of South African ID
Qualification certificate, where applicable
