The Water Research Commission (WRC) is inviting unemployed South African graduates and TVET learners to apply for its 2026 / 2027 Internship and Work Integrated Learning Programme.
The programme will run for 24 months and is aimed at graduates who need workplace experience, as well as TVET learners who require Work Integrated Learning to complete their National Diploma.
Successful candidates will gain valuable practical exposure in a professional working environment while developing skills that can improve future employment opportunities.
The Water Research Commission is one of South Africa’s leading public institutions responsible for supporting water research, innovation, knowledge development and sustainable water management.

Graduate applicants must have one of the following qualifications:
Qualification at NQF Level 6 or above
N6 Certificate or equivalent qualification
Official letter from their TVET College confirming that Work Integrated Learning is required to obtain their National Diploma
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must be an unemployed South African citizen
Preferably be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
Must not have previously participated in an internship programme
Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply
Applications must include the following documents:
Certified copy of South African ID, not older than six months
Certified copies of qualifications and academic transcripts, not older than six months
Signed affidavit confirming that you have never participated in an internship programme
TVET applicants must also include:
Certified copy of N6 Certificate
Official letter from TVET College confirming Work Integrated Learning requirement
