Terms and Conditions

1. Operator and acceptance

StarterJobs.co.za is operated by abodigital Pty Ltd ("StarterJobs", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these Terms. A required acknowledgement is also shown before a CV Tools payment is submitted.

2. Job-discovery service

StarterJobs aggregates opportunities and career information from employer sites, public portals, job boards, and other sources. We are not the employer, recruiter, training provider, or bursary provider unless a page expressly says otherwise. We do not receive applications on an employer's behalf.

Listings can change, expire, or contain source errors. Verify eligibility, deadlines, instructions, and the destination with the official employer or provider before applying. We cannot guarantee the availability or legitimacy of every listing or the outcome of an application.

3. No job or application fees

You do not pay StarterJobs to browse, view, or apply for a listed opportunity. Optional CV Tools charges are separate digital-service purchases, not employer, recruitment, placement, training, or application fees. Treat requests to pay to secure a job or application as a warning sign and verify them independently.

4. Free CV Tools access

A free account includes 3 AI generations and limited CV or cover-letter previews and ATS-style feedback. It does not include full generated output or paid downloads. Quotas and feature availability are shown in the account and pricing interface.

5. Optional paid digital services

• R15 once-off account unlock: adds 5 AI generations to the current quota and unlocks full generated output, downloads, and full ATS feedback for that account. It has no scheduled access expiry and does not auto-renew.
• 30-Day Premium: a single payment for a fixed 30-day Premium access period with a 100-generation limit in each monthly quota window, full output/downloads, and full feedback. It does not auto-renew.
• 1-Year Premium: a single payment for a fixed one-year Premium access period with a 100-generation limit in each monthly quota window, full output/downloads, and full feedback. It does not auto-renew.

The checkout page controls the current name, price, duration, and included features. No recurring PayFast billing is currently implemented. We will not describe a plan as auto-renewing unless recurring billing is implemented and separately disclosed and accepted.

6. Payment and delivery

PayFast processes checkout. A return to StarterJobs in your browser is not proof of payment and does not grant access. Digital access is delivered only after our server receives and verifies the matching PayFast payment notification. A pending message means verification has not yet completed.

You must provide accurate payment and account information and keep transaction references for support. If payment is declined, cancelled, unmatched, or not verified, no paid entitlement is granted. Duplicate verified notifications do not create duplicate benefits.

7. AI processing and limitations

CV text and relevant application details are sent to Google Gemini when you affirmatively submit an AI form. Uploaded files, extracted text, and generated documents are stored in your account until deletion as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Generated CVs, cover letters, scores, and feedback are automated guidance. They can omit context, introduce errors, or suggest wording that is not true for you. They are not legal, recruitment, or professional advice and are not a test in an employer's actual ATS. You must review all names, dates, qualifications, experience, claims, and employer instructions. We do not guarantee ATS passage, interviews, employment, salary, or any application outcome.

8. Your content and acceptable use

You retain responsibility for content you upload or enter and must have the right to use it. You give us and our service providers the limited permission needed to store, process, generate, and deliver the requested service. Do not upload unlawful content, malware, another person's confidential information without authority, or unnecessary sensitive data.

You may not bypass quotas or payment controls, interfere with the service, gain unauthorised access, scrape at a disruptive scale, or use generated output deceptively.

9. Refunds and payment support

If you are charged incorrectly, charged more than once, or do not receive access after a verified payment, email hello@starterjobs.co.za with the account email, amount, date, and PayFast or internal payment reference. We will investigate and, where appropriate or required by law, correct access or arrange a refund through the available payment process.

Because these are digital services that may be delivered immediately after verified payment, a refund is not automatically due merely because you changed your mind after accessing or using the output. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African consumer law.

10. Cancellation and expiry

There is no automatic renewal to cancel. Cancelling or ending Premium in account settings means ending the remaining local access period early; it does not cancel a recurring PayFast debit because none is implemented. It does not by itself reverse a completed payment or create a refund. A refund request must be made under section 9.

11. Intellectual property and third-party services

StarterJobs branding, site code, and original editorial material are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Source job information remains attributable to its source. Employer sites, Google, LinkedIn, Gemini, PayFast, and other linked services have separate terms and policies.

12. Availability and liability

We may maintain, change, suspend, or discontinue features and may remove stale or unsafe listings. To the extent permitted by law, StarterJobs is not responsible for employer decisions, third-party sites, unverified listing changes, or indirect losses caused by reliance on automated guidance. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Governing law, changes, and contact

These Terms are governed by South African law. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. We may update these Terms prospectively and will display the current update date.
