About the Solareff YES Learnerships 2026

This opportunity is aimed at unemployed youth who want to develop practical workplace skills while gaining exposure to various departments within a leading company.

The Youth Employment Service (YES) programme is a Presidency-led initiative created to address youth unemployment and support economic transformation in South Africa. Through this programme, successful candidates will receive hands-on work experience in areas such as administration, warehousing, and technical operations.

It is important to note that this programme is not an internship, apprenticeship, or accredited training programme. Participants will not receive a qualification or certification upon completion. Instead, they will gain valuable workplace experience that can strengthen their future employment prospects.

Job Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Opportunity

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification

A post-matric certificate or programme will be an advantage

Have strong mathematical skills and attention to detail

Be able to work effectively in a team environment

Be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

Not have been permanently employed by a single employer for more than one year

Not be studying full-time during the employment period

Not have previously participated in or registered for the YES initiative

Successful candidates will be expected to:

Provide administrative and operational support within their assigned department

Assist with data capturing and document management

Maintain accurate filing systems and records

Support daily departmental activities and projects

Assist with customer, supplier, and internal stakeholder enquiries

Attend meetings, training sessions, and workplace development activities

Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Assist with preparing reports, schedules, and departmental documentation

Support inventory, asset, stock, and resource management where required

Perform general office and coordination duties

Develop professional skills through workplace learning and mentorship
