Harcourts SolidRock is recruiting Intern Real Estate Agents in the East Rand area. This opportunity is suitable for candidates who are goal-driven, confident, hardworking and willing to learn how the real estate business works.

Successful candidates will receive professional training and mentorship through the Harcourts South Africa Academy.

Successful candidates will be responsible for marketing and selling properties while providing excellent customer service to buyers and sellers.

Intern agents will be trained and mentored to understand the property industry, including sales, listings, property marketing, client communication and the legal side of real estate.

After successfully completing the required training and examinations, candidates may qualify as full-status property practitioners.

Applicants must have a Matric certificate, a valid driver’s licence, a reliable vehicle and a reliable laptop.

Candidates must also have basic computer skills, including the ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Good communication skills, strong people skills and the ability to work independently are also important. Applicants must be fluent in at least two South African languages.

Preference will be given to candidates living in:

Kempton Park, Boksburg, Benoni and Germiston.

Previous sales or cold-calling experience will be an added advantage.

A financial or mathematical background, an existing network in the East Rand area, strong project management skills, self-motivation and persistence will also be beneficial.

Successful candidates will be expected to prospect for new business through cold calling and marketing.

They will also learn the legal aspects of real estate, create and present property listing presentations, conduct market analysis and research, upload property listings and create property adverts.

Other duties include hosting showhouses, showing properties to potential buyers, giving feedback and weekly updates to sellers, and building their personal brand through marketing activities.

No previous real estate experience is required for this opportunity.

Harcourts SolidRock provides full training through the Harcourts South Africa Academy.

After completing the internship and training programme successfully, candidates may write the examination with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) to qualify as full-status real estate agents.

This is a commission-based position.

There is no fixed salary and no petrol allowance. Agents earn commission from successfully registered property sales.

Potential earnings are estimated between R10 000 and R40 000+ per month, depending on effort, consistency and sales performance.
