The Electoral Commission is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Administration Internship x1 opportunity based at the Namakwa Regional Office in the Northern Cape.

The 24-month internship programme is designed to provide recently qualified graduates with an opportunity to gain valuable skills, practical workplace exposure and much-needed work experience.
Successful candidates will join the Electoral Commission’s Regional Office team in the Namakwa Regional Office.
Successful applicants will receive exposure and training in various administration functions.
These include capturing creditor payments, record keeping, assisting with procurement processes, contract and facilities management, and pool vehicle administration.
Interns will also interact with clients and service providers, assist with maintaining asset inventory lists, provide basic Human Resource administration support for the region, and assist with other initiatives in the division.
The intern will assist with minute taking, report writing and routine enquiries.
Other duties include maintaining the filing system in the Regional Office, compiling and distributing documents or packages to stakeholders, and managing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
The intern may also be required to perform additional administrative tasks as instructed by the supervisor.
Applicants must have Matric / Grade 12 / N3 / NTC Level 4.
Applicants must also have a recognised three-year Bachelor’s Degree or three-year National Diploma from an accredited tertiary institution in one of the following fields:
Public Management, Administration, Project Management, Humanities or Political Science.
Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
Candidates must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office programmes such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Applicants must be willing to learn new software and applications.
Candidates must also be willing to travel locally within South Africa when required.
A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
Applicants must be 35 years of age or below.
Applicants must not have been an intern before.
Applicants must also not have worked in the field of their specific study before.
Applicants should not have a high party political profile.

Applicants must be able to work well independently and as part of a team under supervision.
