This exciting 18.2 Unemployed Learnership Programme is designed to equip aspiring artisans with the knowledge and practical training needed to succeed in various engineering trades within one of the world’s leading platinum group metals producers.

Valterra Platinum, formerly known as Anglo American Platinum, is a leading producer of platinum group metals (PGMs) with mining, smelting, and refining operations across Southern Africa. Valterra Platinum is recruiting learners for the following engineering disciplines:

A total of 19 learnership opportunities are available.

Successful candidates will receive:

Structured theoretical and practical training

Exposure to real mining and engineering operations

Workplace-based learning and mentorship

Industry-relevant technical skills development

Opportunity to work alongside experienced artisans

A nationally recognised Artisan Qualification upon successful completion

This programme provides an excellent pathway for unemployed youth who want to qualify as artisans and build long-term careers in the engineering and mining sectors.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) with a minimum pass mark of 40%

Physical Science with a minimum pass mark of 40%

English with a minimum pass mark of 40%

In addition, applicants must have:

N2 qualification or higher with all four subjects passed, including Mathematics and Engineering Science relevant to the chosen trade, OR

NCV Level 4 in the appropriate trade with all subjects passed at a minimum of 40%.

Applicants must submit the following:

Certified copy of South African ID

Certified copies of all relevant qualifications

Proof of residence (for applicants from host communities)

Applicants from host communities must ensure that their proof of residence is stamped by the relevant tribal authority or municipality.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
