This programme is designed for graduates looking to gain practical exposure in the Pulp and Paper industry and build technical competence as entry-level operators.

The Work Integrated Learning Programme forms part of Mondi’s strategy to build future technical skills and strengthen operational excellence.
This 6-month fixed-term programme focuses on:
Developing future technical skills
Enhancing practical workplace competence
Supporting continuous workforce improvement
Preparing participants to become entry-level operators
Upon successful completion, participants will be deemed competent for entry-level operational roles within the organisation.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Diploma in Chemical Engineering and/or Pulp & Paper Technology
Achieved a minimum 60% average pass rate
Must require P1 & P2 practical work experience to complete qualification
Completed P1 & P2 practical work experience in a heavy industry (advantageous)
Valid South African driver’s licence
Develop basic SAP and Microsoft skills for navigating training systems
Perform entry-level production tasks such as housekeeping, pre-start checks, assisting with plant start-ups and shutdowns
Conduct routine checks to minimise operational failures
Ensure safe process operations according to Mondi policies and procedures
Engage with production teams on equipment performance
After completing the programme, participants will be able to:
Optimise entry-level process operations
Maintain safety compliance and quality control
Complete daily checklists and reports
Conduct troubleshooting and contribute to continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities
Participants are expected to participate actively in both classroom and on-the-job learning activities, ensuring all programme requirements are met to achieve the nationally recognised qualification. As a learner, your responsibilities will include attending all scheduled theoretical training sessions and completing coursework on time, and applying learned concepts in the workplace under mentor guidance.
