Appropriate qualification at NQF Level 6 in Animal Health or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA

Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council as an Animal Health Technician

Valid driver’s licence (except for persons with disabilities)

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge of: Animal Diseases Act, 1984 (Act 35 of 1984) Animal Identification Act, 2002 (Act 6 of 2002) Meat Safety Act, 2000 (Act 40 of 2000) Disease control programmes and eradication schemes PFMA

Disease control programmes and eradication schemes

Render Animal Health Regulatory Support Services

Implement disease control measures

Assist with extension services on animal health

Collect samples and assist with law enforcement

Compile monthly and quarterly reports
