Joburg City Theatres invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the Youth Development Internship Programme 2026.

Joburg City Theatres (JCT) is offering internship opportunities to unemployed youth within Johannesburg communities. The internship programme aims to provide practical workplace exposure to students and graduates who require experiential learning as part of their qualifications or career development.

The programme will run for a period not exceeding 24 months.

Reside within Johannesburg communities

Never have participated in an internship programme before, unless it was unrelated to their qualification

Diploma in Performing Arts, Dramatic Arts, or equivalent qualification

Computer literacy in MS Office Applications and email

Assist in planning and coordinating youth empowerment programmes

Support arts education projects and workshops

Assist with community outreach programmes

Support participant registration and attendance tracking

Assist with rehearsals, workshops, and performances

Support programme administration and record keeping

Assist with social media content creation and campaign management

Support monitoring and evaluation activities

Liaise with schools and community arts centres

Assist with planning youth development programmes

Monitor attendance registers and supporting documents

Certified documents must not be older than three months.
