Role Overview

GSK South Africa is part of the global biopharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), focused on improving health through medicines, vaccines, and consumer healthcare products. You will join GSK South Africa as a Finance Graduate supporting the local Finance team and commercial partners. You will help keep our financial processes accurate and timely, support month-end reporting, and assist with payments and reconciliations. Working with colleagues across finance, sales and operations, you will deliver clear financial information to support business decisions. Process payment packs, prepare general ledger postings and submit them to shared services on time.

Support month-end close activities including preparing journals, reconciliations and sales reconciliations.

Monitor and follow up on distributor documents and overdue accounts to support working capital targets.

Maintain trackers and reports such as headcount, Opex and advertising & promotion spend, and support narrative commentary.

Assist with forecasting and annual budgeting for headcount, capex and other operational costs.

Support controls, audits and standard operating procedures to strengthen compliance and improve processes.

Communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders to enable timely decisions.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics or a related field.

Recent graduates with relevant internship experience Or not more than 2 years’ experience in finance, accounting or related roles

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and common office tools.

Basic understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reconciliations and reporting.

Right to work in South Africa.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JDE or similar.

Familiarity with financial reporting tools or experience building simple dashboards.

Working knowledge of IFRS or management accounting concepts.

Experience in payments processing, creditor reconciliations or receivables management.

Clear communication skills and ability to explain numbers to non-finance colleagues.

Interest in professional finance qualifications (for example CIMA, ACCA) or actively working towards one.
