Role Overview

Citi South Africa is the local branch of the global bank Citi, operating from Johannesburg and focusing on corporate and investment banking. It provides services such as treasury and trade solutions, cash management, and cross-border financial services to multinational companies and large local businesses, helping connect South African clients to global markets.

Citi South Africa is looking for Graduates to join our one-year long Learnership Programme within the Business Execution team. The year-long programme provides exposure and practical work experience to newly qualified university graduates. Graduates are allowed to apply to permanent positions in the year and are also sponsored a postgraduate qualification during their year of work, relevant to their area.

As a Graduate you will go through a lengthy interview process. If successful, you will be placed in Business Execution.

You have obtained your undergraduate with a GPA 65% & above or master’s degree in any discipline

Acceptable to have a maximum of 1 year of work experience but not required

You have strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

Dedication to learning and a true passion for the business are vital

Commitment to personal growth and career development, a strong desire to learn, and success in team environments.

Knowledge of the global or domestic business landscape, particularly an interest in financial regulations and compliance (preferred but not required).

Strong communication, planning and organizational skills.

Analytical and quantitative skills.

Desire to develop a deep understanding of the financial industry and regulatory frameworks.

Unquestioned commitment to integrity and ethical decision-making, which is paramount in the ICRM function.

Key Responsibilities

As an intern, your responsibilities will typically include assisting senior team members with daily tasks and project deliverables, conducting research and preparing reports as directed by your supervisor, and attending team meetings to contribute ideas. In this internship, you will be expected to learn and apply company processes, systems, and tools, complete assigned projects within specified deadlines, and maintain accurate records of your work and learning progress.
