Capitec Bank, established in 2001, is currently South Africa’s second biggest retail bank, with more than 10 million customers and over 13 000 employees across its various branches.
Founded by Michiel Le Roux, Riaan Stassen and Jannie Mouton, the bank prides itself on offering low costs to their customers, allowing freedom for clients to pay per transaction and offering the highest interest rate on deposits.

Key Responsibilities
You must represent the bursary programme positively in your professional conduct and fulfill any work-back obligations specified in your bursary contract after graduating. As a bursary recipient, your responsibilities will include maintaining the minimum academic performance standards and attending all lectures and tutorials as required.
Entry Requirements
• Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying for the bursary (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
• You must be a South African citizen
• You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
• You must be studying or intend on studying full-time towards a NQF7 (or higher) qualification (Bachelors Degree/ Honours) (the bursary does NOT cover N4/5/6, Higher Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Masters or Doctoral students)
• You must be registered to study at a DHET/ CHE registered tertiary Institution (university, college, Private Colleges, etc) (the bursary does NOT cover TVETs, Community Colleges, Graduate/ Business School, or Distance-learning Student ie. UNISA, etc)
• You must achieve a Bachelor’s Pass with a minimum average of 65% in Matric
• You must achieve a a minimum average of 65% for the latest full academic-years (2024 and 2025 so far), if currently studying
• Preference will be given to students on track to finish their qualification in the minimum-time required (not N+1 or higher) and students in line with the sponsor’s transformation/ employment equity objectives and requirements
