Role Overview

Absa Group Limited is a financial services group located in South Africa and listed on the JSE. Absa is inviting students to apply for their Fellowship Programme, for the 2026 academic year.

Scholarships will be awarded to 50 students, for studies within the following fields:

The Absa Fellowship Programme is so much more than a regular scholarship or bursary programme. It is a leadership development programme, that provides candidates with financial support towards their studies, as well as the chance to participate in a specially curated leadership development programme created by Absa.

The fellowship will provide cover for the following study related expenses: full tuition fees, textbooks, educational equipment, laptop, accommodation in university residence or private, meal allowance, monthly stipend, monthly data allowance, student medical aid cover.

Recipients will also receive the following benefits: leadership programme, travel if required, learner modules and guides, online lectures and assessments, emotional wellness check-in sessions and academic tutoring and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

You must represent the bursary programme positively in your professional conduct and fulfill any work-back obligations specified in your bursary contract after graduating. As a bursary recipient, your responsibilities will include maintaining the minimum academic performance standards and attending all lectures and tutorials as required.

Entry Requirements

• Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
• You must be a citizen of one of these African countries: South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Botswana, Tanzania, Kenya, Mauritius, Seychelles, Uganda or Ghana
• You must be between 18 and 25 years old
• You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
• You must be entering your 1st year of undergraduate study in 2026
• You must intend on studying towards an undergraduate degree qualification, within one of the fields of study listed above
• You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in Matric latest results
• You must intend on studying at a public university in South Africa
• You must be a leader
