Xhariep District Municipality is inviting applications for the position of Finance Intern within the Budget and Treasury Office.

The internship is offered on a 3-year fixed-term contract and is aimed at new market entrants who want to gain practical experience in municipal finance.

Contract Duration: 3 Years Fixed Term Contract

Reporting: Designated officials in the Budget and Treasury Office

Remuneration: R100 000.00 total package

The successful intern will be exposed to work in the entire Budget and Treasury Office, including:

Compilation and submission of compliance reports

Working with various Acts and legislation applicable to the municipality

Three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with major concentration in: Economics Accounting Internal Audit Risk Management

Knowledge of any financial system

Knowledge of the Pastel Accounting system will be an added advantage.

Financial problem-solving skills

Ability to take verbal and written instructions
