Role Overview

VKB Group invites South African Grade 12 learners and university students to apply for the VKB Bursary Programme 2027.

Bursary Application Closing Date: 31 August 2026

The VKB Bursary Programme for 2027 is now open for applications from high-achieving South African learners and university students who need financial support to further their studies.

This bursary is aimed at students who are passionate about building a career in agriculture, finance, engineering, construction, business, marketing and related commercial fields.

The bursary intake is for the January 2027 academic year, and successful applicants may also receive workplace exposure through vacation work during their studies.

VKB Group is offering bursaries for students who are studying or planning to study in the following fields:

Bachelor of Commerce in Chartered Accountancy

Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying

Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Mechanical

Bachelor of Engineering: Mechanical

BCom Economic Sciences with International Trade

BCom Economic Sciences with Marketing

BCom Agricultural Economics with Risk Management

The VKB Bursary Programme is open to:

University students already studying towards one of the approved qualifications

Applicants must be South African citizens and must meet the academic requirements set by VKB.

Grade 12 applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must be a South African citizen

Must have a valid South African ID

Must obtain a National Senior Certificate

Must achieve a minimum overall average of 70%

Must upload latest Grade 11 results

Must upload current Grade 12 results

Current university students must meet the following requirements:

Must be enrolled at an accredited South African tertiary institution

Must be studying one of the approved qualifications

Must achieve at least 60% average in major subjects

Must submit a complete academic record, including latest 2026 results

Successful applicants must be willing to:

Complete vacation work at one of VKB’s regional head offices

Relocate after completing their studies if employment opportunities arise

Meet possible work-back obligations after graduation

Communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans, spoken and written

The VKB Bursary Programme gives students an opportunity to receive financial assistance while gaining exposure to one of South Africa’s established agricultural businesses.
