Nedbank is inviting students to apply for its External Bursary Programme for the 2027 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded for studies towards a first undergraduate or Honours degree or diploma in the following fields:
Green Economy skills refer to areas of study focused on improving social well-being and social equity while reducing environmental risks and ecological insufficiency.

Increasing materials efficiency
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
Must be studying or intending to study towards a first undergraduate or Honours degree or diploma in 2027
Field of study must focus on STEM or Green Economy skills
Must be studying or accepted to study full-time at a recognised and accredited public University or University of Technology in South Africa
Must have a strong academic record
Must have passed Mathematics in Matric
Mathematics Literacy will not be accepted
Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% for the 2026 academic year at Matric or University level
Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% for all subjects aligned to the university qualification
Must have proven financial need, determined by household income
Applicants under 18 years old must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to apply
This bursary is suitable for students who:

Key Responsibilities
As a bursary recipient, your responsibilities will include maintaining the minimum academic performance standards and attending all lectures and tutorials as required. Submitting academic progress reports to the bursary provider at specified intervals and participating in any vacation work placements or mentorship programmes is required.
