Role Overview

First National Bank (FNB) is accepting applications for its Future League Graduate Programme, the bank’s flagship route for young South African graduates to launch a permanent banking career. FNB accepts Graduate Programme applications between March and August every year, which means the 2026 application window for the next intake is open right now. If you have completed a degree, or are in your final year, get your CV and academic results ready and apply before the end of August 2026.

FNB is a division of FirstRand Bank Limited, one of the largest financial services groups in Africa, and is consistently rated among the most innovative banks in the world. The Future League Graduate Programme is designed to immerse graduates in the world of FNB from day one.

New graduates spend their first three weeks in a dedicated Welcome induction programme, learning how the organisation works, meeting managers, HR and the CEOs, and getting to grips with everything from the intranet to payslips and benefits. After induction, graduates enjoy a team-building weekend before moving into their business units and a six-month structured training programme. Graduates also take on real innovation projects, including the Service Channels Project and the annual Graduate Project, where the top three teams win prizes and truly impressive ideas can be entered into FNB’s group-wide Innovation Programme.

A three-week structured induction covering the entire FirstRand Bank Limited organisation

A six-month training programme with modules in Project Management, Interpersonal Skills, Presentation Skills and Business Writing

Hands-on innovation work through the Service Channels Project and the Graduate Project

Networking with senior leaders, managers and the FNB graduate alumni community

Real day-to-day work experience in a business unit matched to your degree
