Applicants must also be willing to work shifts, including after-hours shifts, night duty, weekends and public holidays.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment. Duties include:

Sweeping, mopping and buffing floors using cleaning machines

Cleaning walls, windows, doors and window frames

Cleaning bathrooms, showers and lockers

Dusting, washing and polishing furniture

Cleaning corridors, public toilets, offices, clinics and entrances

Cleaning stairs, fire escapes, lifts, passages and waiting areas

Removing medical and general waste

Cleaning bins and flattening cardboard boxes

Following healthcare waste management and infection control requirements

Operating heavy-duty cleaning machines

Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment

Sorting and sealing contaminated linen

Defrosting and cleaning unit refrigerators

Removing food leftovers when necessary

Cleaning and maintaining the unit kitchen

Controlling kitchen and bathroom stock and reporting shortages to the supervisor

Keeping cleaning trolleys clean

Completing daily activities on the cleaning control list

Following all cleaning service policies and procedures

Complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Performing additional duties allocated by the supervisor

Attending approved meetings and training

Participating in continuous training and development programmes

Complying with the Performance Management and Development System
