The internships form part of the Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme established by National Treasury to strengthen financial-management capacity in municipalities.

The internship will provide practical exposure to municipal accounting, budgeting, financial management, supply chain management, reconciliations and financial-data collection.
Applicants must have a three-year bachelor’s degree or National Diploma with majors in one or more of the following fields:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Proficiency in at least two official languages of the Western Cape.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
A high level of responsibility.

The successful candidate will receive structured training in the key performance areas of the municipality’s Internal Audit and Risk Management functions.
