Andru Mining has announced 10 Blasting Assistant Learnership opportunities for 2026 at its Kalgold Operation.

Grade 12 / Matric / Std 10 certificate or equivalent qualification

Must be able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness, also known as a Red Ticket

Must have a clean criminal record

Must successfully pass a Dover Test

Valid driver’s licence is compulsory

Must be willing to undergo training across different work shifts

Must be a recognised resident of the affected local communities, subject to verification

The Blasting Assistant Learnership focuses on developing future blasting assistants within an opencast mining environment.

During the programme, successful learners may gain practical exposure to:

Practical blasting support duties

A Certificate of Fitness, commonly known as a Red Ticket, confirms that a person is medically fit to work in the mining environment after completing occupational medical examinations.

The Dover Test is commonly used in the mining industry to assess concentration, attention to detail, mental alertness, ability to follow instructions and general aptitude.

A valid driver’s licence is compulsory for this learnership. Applicants without a driver’s licence may not meet the minimum requirements.
