Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for the Graduate Internship Programme 2026/2027 – 2027/2028.

Internship Application Closing Date: 08 May 2026Internship Location: Pretoria, Braamfontein, Witbank, Polokwane, Welkom, Kimberley, Gqeberha, East London, Cape Town, Klerksdorp, Mafikeng and Durban, South Africa

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR) is inviting qualifying applicants to apply for its Graduate Internship Programme for the 2026/2027 – 2027/2028 financial years.

This internship programme is aimed at unemployed South African graduates who need workplace exposure in order to strengthen their skills and improve employability. The department also encourages persons with disabilities and TVET College graduates to apply.

Successful candidates will be responsible for arranging their own transport and accommodation for the duration of the internship.

A monthly stipend will be paid according to qualification level:

Diploma / Degree / Honours: R7 860,50 per month

Master’s Degree: R9 482,00 per month

A comprehensive CV must be attached

Only shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit certified copies of qualifications and other supporting documents

Applicants who have previously participated in a Government Internship Programme will not be considered

Students requiring experiential training must attach a formal letter from their tertiary institution

If applying for more than one post, you must submit a separate Z83 form and application for each post
